Now i decided to create my first product
THE BUSINESS CARD!
Here is the dimensions i constructed for my cards - the same as the original cards already created for the business.
I then played with the idea of having just the logo on the front side of the card - being eye catching and effective at drawing attention.
I began experimenting with a few different appearances the fron of my cards could take.
Here are the four arrangements i came up with, all keeping consistant to the theme and use of colour. In the top left design i came up with a red and creme stripe along the top and bottom of the card that looks friendly and professional - on the top right one i added a basic backdrop of a solid red which i felt drew more attention to it that a simple white.
In the bottom left i decided to add a 'half and half' effect where each half of the card had a different colour, in the shape of a diagonal. I felt this worked quite well and really emphasized the logo. The bottom right is a basic logo on a white card, the easiest to make and the least cost effective.
In the end i chose the RED card with the logo on, as i felt it worked most effective in creating a professional image, also making the card stand out.
I then began experimenting with the back of the card. I decided to take the relevant info from the previous card and set up my own layout.
Here is some of the information i decided to add - also note my reuse of my banner for the web address - keeping my designs consistant.
-
Here are my three layout ideas for the back of the card, also notice the use of the red and cream stripes originally an idea for the front of the card but recycled. You can see through all three images how i have created a strong header and a suitable layout of the web address and contact info at the bottom leaving a big space for the Technical info of what the company do.
-
From the three layout ideas i chose the last one keeping all the info central similar to a lot of the other designs i have created.
I also eventually decided to change the title text to 'Chunkfive' a font i have been using throughout my retro work.
Here is the finished front and back
