Here you can see three attempts at containing my text with a car shape. This method came to me from my task work given at the start of the project, where i experimented different ways of displaying text bound in a traffic sign. Also notice my refinement and size of fonts used in all three as they progress.
In the two images seen above you can see my next step of design. Experimenting with the use of line and continuing my use of containment. I decided to refine my choice of font and colour by creating big bold titles with elements of black and red in each. I also chose to play on my tyre theme by adding a hand drawn vector tyre tread as an underline. You can see in the three examples how i have varied this. I then decided to apply this to my earlier idea where i set up some more contained text in a car outline. I then further experimented with colour and arrangement of each piece of text. I also looked at scaling with the DISCOUNT TYRES and the UK part of the text. You can also see how i have experimented by using a dashed 'speed' line instead of the tyre tread, yet another play on my motor theme.
In this experiment i have continues my look into bold text and arrangement of scale and colour. You can see from the four examples here how i have varied from each one with shape and font. I had the idea of this layout with half of a tyre flowing around the side of the text. As an extreme idea i added a flame to the tyre shape just to see how it would look, until eventually deciding to smooth it off as well as my detail to the tyre tread to leave just a basic circular shape with a small inner circle. I found this simplistic approach worked very well. I also like how my choice of font and tyre shape flowed together, if you look closely at the UK section you can see how as the tyre shape ends the circular flow is continued in the shape of the font choice.
My favourite Design so far.
